Outstanding Potential Award

The ASBDA Foundation Outstanding Potential Award was designed to honor those outstanding bandmasters who have distinguished themselves early in their careers and who demonstrate the professional standards and artistic qualities upheld by the American School Band Directors Association.  The Outstanding Potential Award should be given to a young director who exhibits the qualities of a future outstanding director.

Candidates for the OPA are nominated by a current ASBDA Member and must be within the first five years of teaching, or a current student teacher.  Only one nomination may be given by each ASBDA member in a given school year.

Each ASBDA member presenting an Outstanding Potential Award should DOWNLOAD and complete the OPA APPLICATION, return it to the Foundation Award Chair, Cindy Swan-Eagan by This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. • present the award at a public occasion, such as concert, awards convocation, assembly or banquet or other such public function
  
  
• Submit a photo of the award presentation to the Foundation Award Chair for use by ASBDA

• Submit a press release (sample press release will be sent to member upon receipt of award application) to all local media (both member and award recipient’s) and then return copy of any media coverage received to Chair
